Brooklyn, I love you, but you’re weird. ⠀
Last night I went up to the fourth floor of my usual haunt, City Point, where there is not only an Alamo Drafthouse Movie Theater, but a bar/museum called House of Wax, where wax models of people’s faces and body parts are on display. ⠀
According to the signage, viewing these figures, which gave audiences a glimpse at the anatomical effects of certain diseases and the death masks of historical figures, was a popular form of entertainment in the Victorian era. I guess I get the appeal. I ended up spending over a half hour ogling at the display. ⠀
Wondering what other wacky museums can be found in BK? Well, I just posted a list on my blog of the weirdest/most unique museums Brooklyn has to offer. Check it out. The link is in the bio.
